Dr. Renu Hausen
Medical Director of East End Radiation Therapy

Dr. Hausen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University as a National Merit Scholar and a William Marsh Rice Scholar. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine. Having served as Chief Resident, Dr. Hausen completed her specialty training, with distinction, in Radiation Oncology in 1994 at the New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. Subsequently, she joined the faculty of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the University of Tennessee Medical School as Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology. More recently, she has been involved in private practice in the New York area in Westchester County where she served as the Associate Medical Director of Riverhill Radiation Oncology. Dr. Hausen joined East End Radiology in 1999 as the Director of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Hausen achieved her board certification in Radiation Oncology from the American Board of Radiology in 1995. She was re-certified in 2003.

Dr. Hausen’s areas of special interest and expertise include intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for prostate cancers and head and neck cancers, multidisciplinary breast cancer management, CT-based treatment planning and conformal three-dimensional radiotherapy for various malignancies, and stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors.

Dr. Hausen has written numerous original articles furthering the advancement of the practice of radiation therapy. She has also presented her original research at numerous national conferences. She continues to deliver presentations on radiotherapy topics of interest to her medical colleagues and to the local community.

Dr. Hausen is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Radiology, and the American College of Radiation Oncology.
